A Gingerbread Overdose

DSCN2892

I’m not sharing a recipe here, more an idea- to get ambitious with your gingerbread houses this Christmas! I made this one last week and it took a while but was well worth the result! Modelled on my own house, this is at least a metre squared with tempered chocolate roofing and almond tiles as well as little gingerbread trees! The trick when arranging the pieces is patience and lots and lots of icing to seal up the seams, so why don’t you have a go and make up your own templates too.

Good luck!

  1. This looks so cool! I’m totally using your idea of slivered almonds as roofing the next time I venture into gingerbread house land!

  2. Wow – now I have made gingerbread houses. Ones that I was actually proud of, but I always stuck to the four walls and one roof – what an eye opener. So I think this is officially the earliest I have ever looked forward to christmas πŸ˜‰

    1. Thankyou! It took absolutely ages due to me being obsessive with baked things- paid off though I suppose!

  3. Hi I am so grateful I found your blog page, I really found you by error, while I was
searching on Aol for something else, Anyhow I
am here now and would just like to say kudos for a remarkable post and a all round exciting blog (I also
love the theme/design), I don’t have time to read through it
all at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also included your RSS feeds,
so when I have time I will be back to read a lot more,
Please do keep up the great work.
